Chad's Bistro was named after Chad Anthony Barcia, the beloved son of Angelo and Nancy Barcia.

Chad was born on June 22, 1987 in New Orleans and resided in Metairie for the past twelve years. He attended Holy Name of Jesus Grammar School and has been a student at De La Salle since the eighth grade. He was a star member of the football team, track and field team and the rugby team. He was a three year letterman in football and two years for track and field. He also belonged to campus ministry and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He participated in many other school activities

As a Junior Chad was a star football player voted All District 1st Team and 2nd Team for offensive line. At 6'4" and 308 pounds, he was already being recruited for many division one colleges for his athletic ability. Chad was outgoing and loved life. He was always smiling and ready to lend a hand. You could ask him for the world and he would to go and get it for you. He was the kind of special person, full of life with a heart of gold.

On the afternoon of March 29, 2005, tragedy struck the 17 year old while playing a Rugby match. As he returned from a play he fell to ground and passed away. Sudden cardiac death has taken another young athletes life. Chad leaves to cherish his memory his parents; Angelo and Nancy Barcia; sister Melissa Barcia; brother Andy Barcia, Grandmother Josie Barcia; Grandmother Edith Maillian. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
